Teaching & Learning/Collaboration
  • Promotes reading, visual, and technological literacy throughout the school.
  • Collaborates with staff in the development and delivery of curriculum for resource-based instruction emphasizing research skills, independent learning, and differentiation.
  • Instructs staff and students in the fair, legal, and ethical use of technology and multimedia learning resources in order to effectively access, evaluate, and process research information for class and independent study.
  • Assists teachers with the implementation of print and multimedia learning materials and integration of technology into classroom instruction through individual and group in-service instruction.
  • Design and produce learning resources for specific instructional purposes.

Program Administrator
  • Develops and supervises an annual budget for the support of the building technology and LMC resources.
  • Oversees collection development through professional selection techniques and regular weeding.
  • Catalogs, classifies, and organizes all learning materials circulated through the LMC.
  • Assists in the planning, assessment, and monitoring of technology throughout the school

  • Provides students and staff with media services and technology support.
  • Promotes the LMC program by communicating with students, staff, parents, and community via newsletter,
    electronic billboard, website, cable TV, special events and other means.
  • Manages the scheduling and routines of LMC space, resources, and equipment.
  • Participates in the selection, training and mentoring of LMC paraprofessionals, technical support personnel,
    volunteers, and student assistants.
  • Communicates with and supports district media staff and programs.
  • Demonstrates professionalism and leadership through membership in professional organizations,
    participation in workshops and conferences, and membership on school building committees.
